Small Town Jones
Small Town Jones is the musical project of Devon-based singer-songwriter Jim Jones, crafting intimate Indie Folk and Americana rooted in emotional honesty and real-life experience. Drawing comparisons to Elliott Smith, Bruce Springsteen, The Band and Wilco, his songs explore heartbreak, hope, loss and repair.
His acclaimed album Kintsugi earned support from BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music, alongside a four-star review in Mojo and widespread critical praise. Inspired by the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, Kintsugi reflects Jones’ core themes of resilience, imperfection and repair. Created in collaboration with drummer and producer Michael Reed (Ted Lasso), the record blends understated acoustic songwriting with rich, cinematic textures.
New material is currently being written and recorded, with a new album on the horizon. Alongside his music, Jim works in youth justice and as a therapeutic mentor—an experience that deeply informs his songwriting with compassion, depth and lived truth.
