Desert Life

Desert Life is the moniker of singer-songwriter Chris Swales, and multi-instrumentalist Tom Jordan. Their music crosses styles and genres; sombre Indie Folk, rousing Alt-Country, and emotive Americana.

Their debut album, Let It All Pass, carries the listener through multiple genres, all slightly different, and yet all connected. From Indie-folk to alt-country, from lo-fi to Spaghetti Western. It stirs the soul with its melancholic yet melodious sound, and provides a cinematic soundtrack that captures the attention of the listener.
Their single ‘‘Sphere’ garnered the attention of Amazing Radio, as well as NPR’s Tiny Desk creator, Bob Boilen, who added the song to his My Tiny Morning Show, and is listed as one of his songs of 2023. Their debut album also received media attention from EARMILK, The Big Takeover Magazine,
