Jodie Marie

Pembrokeshire based singer-songwriter Jodie Marie was signed to Decca Records / Universal Music in 2010 and began writing songs with former Suede guitarist and producer Bernard Butler and singer songwriter Ed Harcourt.

Her debut album Mountain Echo (released in 2012 on the Verve imprint) was described by The Guardian as ‘velvety and bittersweet’ and received much critical acclaim. She since self-released her second album Trouble in Mind in 2015 with Transgressive Records, her sound was described by The Independent as ‘having a light-blues and jazz-folk-edge recalling late-1960s singer-songwriters such as Carole King’.
Collaborating again with songwriter Ed Harcourt & Dan Smith (of the Noisettes) and produced by collaborator Owain Fleetwood Jenkins – Jodie Marie’s latest album The Answer features singles, ‘Carageen’, and ‘Ain’t No Doubt About It’, receiving A-List support from BBC Wales. It’s been described as ‘a contemporary masterpiece’ (Welsh Connections).
Her latest release, Polar Night was inspired by her time above the Arctic Circle in January 2023, isolated in a cabin on a remote island for just over three weeks, surrounded by extreme weather and stories of the indigenous Sámi people. ‘This beautiful collection of atmospheric songs exemplifies just how far she has come since her debut in 2012’. (NewSound Wales).

To date, Jodie Marie has collaborated with the likes of Bernard Butler, Ed Harcourt, Crispin Hunt, Green Gartside (Scritti Politti), Jimmy Hogarth, Gethin Pearson, Owain Fleetwood Jenkins, Daniel Smith (the Noisettes) and Johnny Flynn to name a few.

Jodie will be performing a solo set at Boia Festival 2025 with three backing vocalists – each fantastic artists in their own right: Rona MacRona, Jo Messore (Sky Barkers) and Eline Brun (I See Rivers).
