Mwsog

MWSOG are a seven-piece Welsh collective forging a bold new vision of contemporary folk, where ritual, resistance and psychedelia collide. Drawing from Welsh traditional music, 1970s acid folk and doom-laden textures, their sound is both ancient in spirit and strikingly modern. Built around powerful storytelling, driving rhythms and rich vocal harmonies led by Mari Mathias, MWSOG create immersive, communal performances that feel as much like ceremony as concert – visceral, hypnotic and deeply rooted in the landscape of Cymru.

Following their debut single “Chwyldro” (2025), the band broke through with “Llef Hir” (Feb 2026), named Track of the Week on BBC Radio 6 Music by Emily Pilbeam and earning widespread national airplay. They were also selected as BBC Radio 6 Music Featured Artist of the Month, with further support from Huw Stephens, Lauren Laverne, Nick Grimshaw and Craig Charles, alongside international backing from KEXP.
